DARKNESS FALLS TOUR

7 pm - Friday & Saturday evenings starting September 18, through October 31, 2026.

Our Darkness Falls tour was created by historian and author Thea Lewis (Haunted Burlington, Haunted Inns and Ghostly Getaways of Vermont, and more). This perennial favorite, chosen one of New England's best haunted walks by both Yankee Magazine and AAA, features some of Burlington's most infamous characters and intriguing haunts; theater ghosts, smugglers, serial killers, and more. Generally suitable for individuals ten and up. Some sensitive subject matter. Parental discretion advised.

FRIGHT BY FLASHLIGHT TOUR

Have you ever wanted to try to speak to the spirits?

Join Thea Lewis, creator of Queen City Ghostwalk on this haunted tour that incorporates vintage ghost-hunting tools to heighten your spooky experience!

Flashlights and equipment are provided on this story-telling adventure in Burlington’s iconic Lakeview Cemetery.

Sensible footwear is recommended. We regret that this tour is not accessible.

Meet at the Louisa Howard Chapel inside the gates of Lakeview Cemetery, 455 North Avenue, Burlington.

WICKED WATERFRONT TOUR

7 pm - Wednesday Oct. 14 & Oct. 21

Ghosts in the water and on the shore! Relive Burlington’s wild beginnings on this tour that explores railroad and maritime history in the Queen City, and includes tales of the waterfront’s scandalous and sometimes deadly past. Sailors, brawlers and even ladies of the night. Based on Thea’s books Ghosts and Legends of Lake Champlain and True Crime Stories of Burlington Vermont. Sensible footwear is recommended. Adult subject matter.

Meet Your Guide

Thea Lewis is the Vermont native who created Queen City Ghostwalk, Burlington’s original haunted tour, back in 2002.

An historian and author who has developed historic tours for the Burlington and Montpelier areas, she’s been called Vermont’s Queen of Halloween.

She’s written seven books of haunted, wicked, and true crime stories for The History Press. Her children’s book titled, There’s A Witch In My Sock Drawer, was published in 2011.

Thea, who was the 2024 winner of The Vermont Writers’ Prize for her short work of fiction, Farm Boy, researches and writes every story you’ll hear on your walk.

When she’s not touring she can often be found making personal appearances in the community.
